Parallel Universes

Everything happens always at the same time, everywhere. All the choices you make have been made. Every path is a real path. Murphy’s Rule or Karma? Sometimes I wish I could be in two places at once.

Zagar – Odd Moments of Eternity

Last days of summer

Sunsets in Berlin are magical – the clouds are dancing all night and the last rays of sunlight paints them with many colours. As autumn is coming, the days get shorter, yet you can still enjoy a nice summer evening with the stars and the mosquitoes. Autumn will be great!

Paul Kalkbrenner – Sky and Sand

First day of our life

3 days ago, an important date just passed: it was our 6th anniversary with Báró.

I remember a long consideration took place before I adopted him, with a lot of arguments regarding if a shelter dog with a dark past is what I needed in my life at the moment and from that point on until he lives.

Adopting him was one of my best decisions in life.

I clearly remember about an evening chilling with my dad in front of the TV, Báró was laying down in between us and my father said:

“Well, Katikám, I know I was arguing a lot with you if you need this dog or not. But now, every time I see him, I have this thought: we made this tiny part in the World better.”

We’ve been through a lot in the past 6 years and I’m sure a lot more is yet to come. I am extremely proud, when I think about where we started and where we are now.
Báró is 8 years old now, from which more than 6 years, he has spent with me. I hope we will have another good 10 years together.

Bright Eyes – First Day of My Life

Take comfort in little things

Most probably my new neighbour is the one who’s listening to classical music – mainly operas – lately. The courtyard is filled with the soothing sound of violins and beautiful voices, the Sun shines through the window, Báró is taking a sunbath and I get to clean the apartment that became my home since the first day we moved here.

Gratitude is something I practice every morning. For I am one of the lucky ones not having serious problems. We should appreciate what we have while we have it.

Take a moment to listen to this piece, close your eyes if you wish, and think about all the treasures you have. You are richer than you think you are.

Max Richter – On the Nature of Daylight

Timing is an interesting thing. Bad timing or perfect timing can change your life forever. If you believe in Faith, then you believe things are happening for a reason.

Change is good.

Portishead – We Carry On

Take a walk on the wild side

Nowadays I am practicing gathering the energy to let go when letting go is needed. Only in a few days, another great friend of mine leaves Berlin. I’ll miss her, however, we try to enjoy the last few days we still have.

She won’t be gone for good – our friendship will remain. Still, knowing how things will change, I am grateful, happy and a tad sad at the same time.

We are temporary arrangements. What’s important will remain.
