Undivided attention

Time is our biggest treasure. Conscious time is important and undivided attention is the greatest gift you can give someone.

Dedicating your time only makes sense if you are not wasting it. I’m all for lazy afternoons every now and then, but I prefer to split my time among people I can share genuine experiences with.

A friend was visiting me for a few hours earlier today, and the World ceased to exist while we were talking about our latest experiences, thoughts, memories, theories.
Whoever you spend your time with will be effected by you and they will carry this effect with them. You never can know where the chain reaction or wave you started ends.

Free as Flamingos

We have celebrated the new home of a good friend tonight. Happy 3 friends, some wine, 2 dogs and flamingos all over – this is Berlin. Be happy in your new room, Teona!

Click

It’s funny how life plays along. Being tired one day and passing on an invitation can result in not meeting someone who you could click with instantly.

I like to play with the concept of what ifs, trying to chase back how I ended up where I am now.

Would I be in Berlin if I never wanted to be a sound engineer? If it wasn’t so, I never would’ve chosen mathematics and physics as a faculty, never would’ve played in a band, never would I have been dating with a “fan”, who never would’ve introduced me to one of my best friends, who might have moved here anyway, but I may have never planned my vacation here to visit him as well, and who knows, if I would have fallen in love with the city as I have. Have I not had my marketing assistant job in Budapest, maybe I never would’ve worked at the digital agency where I started after moving here, and never would’ve met Masha, whose birthday was last week.
As I was pretty exhausted, if I passed on it, I never would’ve met someone new.

I like the way life works. Some things just click.

It’s not the waking, it’s the rising

I came across this song today and I think it is a masterpiece. Hozier has summed up so much in such an elegant way – I am totally sucked in in this song, that feels like a prayer.

Lately I have noted I have changed a lot in the past few years. It’s not only due to moving abroad, though catapulting to a new environment forcing one to re-build her safety-net is definitely part of the change. It is also the extraordinary people I got to know here. Some of them have come and gone, some of them are key pillars of my everydays. Many of them have taught me important lessons.

I see relationships differently, I see priorities differently, and I have a whole new level of understanding how important it is to get out of the comparison game.

It’s never too late to change.

Festival der Riesendrachen

I went to the kite festival today, at the Tempelhofer Feld. It felt like a surreal time machine. Seeing hundreds of kites flying over our heads made me feel like a child again – that satisfied smile couldn’t have been erased from my face for a second, until we were there.

Superheroes, ladybugs, dragons, Snow White and the 7 dwarves – endless variation of shape and colour. Simply breathtaking.

My sister – who has just turned one year more experienced today, would have loved it.
Boldog szülinapot, Zsuzsi! We’ll have to visit this together next year! 😉

Autumn fallin’

I got caught in the storm today on my bike, on my way home from work. Autumn is here.
I love the falling leaves, the heavy wind, the grim faces in the storm. Colours. Change.

…and I love surprises. I already have a few things to look forward to next week.

But first, I rest.
