Calibrate

We are temporary arrangement. As such, our focus and priorities shift from time to time. Sometimes, you need to zoom out to re-calibrate before zooming back in.

I am in the process of shifting my focus, while re-calibrating my balance. I am building on a strong core, so I’ll be fine. But in the midst of the realm of new realities, I feel that this is a time to practice patience with myself. My expectations tend to be irrationally high towards myself, so I am learning to be kind. I am getting there.

Fortunately, I have great friends who remind me time and again to take it with ease.

Brian Eno – Who Gives A Thought

Break

I’ve been switching off in the past days. Gave in and fell asleep on the couch, ate great food and got lost in the colours of the season. Rest is key. I am learning to embrace that and build it into my everydays.

Brian Eno – Making Gardens Out Of Silence

Dream drifter

You dream, you aim, you shoot, you land, you work, you run, you learn, you change. Some dreams are easier reached than others, and some fade away.
Changes. Some are necessary, some come as a surprise.

The difference between good change and bad can be a choice.

I look forward to the weekend, to let it sink and to then start planning again.
Change is good.

Brian Eno – An Ending (Ascent) (Remastered 2019)

By the river

I haven’t seen the water in more than a month. I grew up near the Danube, so when I moved to Berlin, I knew that the river banks will be important for me. I missed the water.

So I ended up having a Forest Gump walk today.

It all started with wanting to take some pictures of one of the nice streets in the neighbourhood, where the cherry blossom trees are painting an amazing view.
But it was not far from the park, where we also haven’t been for ages, trying to avoid the crowd.

…then as I was already there, I remembered, if we walk across the unknown streets, we could get to Janowitzbrücke. So we did.

Walking along the water was amazing. The sun was setting, the birds were still chirping, and there were not too many people. For a moment, I felt peace.
Then I remembered that I don’t know yet when I could see the Danube again.

We ended up having a long walk, through streets we normally never cross.
Berlin looks odd, empty.

But it was a nice spring evening.
