Snow magic

I woke up to a white Innenhof, with the snow still falling as I turned in my bed. Berlin in snow is a different story. I love it. The white layer above the dirty pavement, the sound fresh snow makes under my feet, and the way my dog jumps around like a rabbit. Finally, winter. Just when the lights started to feel like Spring.

Autumn

My favourite season is here. It shows in the beautiful morning Sun that is shining into the living room for a few hours, the chilly air, the colours changing on the firewall, the leaves under my shoes in Tiergarten.

I love autumn. It’s the season for my green jacket and blue berry scarf.

Important basics

Surround yourself with people that inspire you and who are there for you, no matter if they or you are happy or sad. It just makes life feel so much lighter.
Learn how to let go those who are not.

I am still learning, but I have good basics.

Take good care

Many of my friends are sick now. They are mostly OK, some struggle more, some not too much. These are challenging times.

With the best timing, I finally got my booster today. It was a perfect ending to a long week, that came with a surprise treat.

Please take good care of yourselves, wherever you are. We’ll get over this.

Safe travels

Most of my family gathered today to visit my Grandmother at the courtyard of the hospital she stays at. She met my youngest nephew for the first time. I could only keep my fingers crossed the weather would be nice for them. The visit was a success, she managed to re-charge a little bit on some family love.

It was also my father’s birthday today. Even though I couldn’t pull his ears, he couldn’t escape my rendition of our family song. 🙂

I can’t wait to finally get vaccinated and be able to travel again. I’ll then also hug them all.

Until then, here are some life advices, just so we all stay safe until those times, when travelling becomes normal again.

Lisa Hannigan – Safe Travels

Please eat your greens
and don’t sit close to screens,
your eyes are a means to an end.
And I would be sorry if, due to your hurry,
you were hit by a lorry my friend.
Like you always say,
Safe travels, don’t die, don’t die,
safe travels, don’t die.
Don’t walk on ice, no matter how nice,
how sturdy, enticing it seems.
Please cross at the lights
and don’t start fires or fights and
don’t dabble in heights on caffeine.
Like you always say
Safe travels, don’t die, don’t die,
safe travels, don’t die.
Don’t swallow bleach
out on Sandymount beach,
I’m not sure I’d reach you in time my boy.
Please don’t bungee jump
or ignore a strange lump
and a gasoline pump’s not a toy.
Like you always say
Safe travels, don’t die, don’t die,
safe travels, don’t die.

Lighten up

This was a long week. I was tired the whole day, but after returning home and having my favourite lazy vegan bolognese, I felt like I have all the missed energy. So I spent it on eating some more and being lazy watching series.

The balcony door is open, now the birds are quiet, Báró is snoaring, and the air smells like summer. I feel like the weight is off of my shoulders for a moment.
I hardly can wait to enjoy this lazy few days in between two weeks.

Let’s stop the time.
