Artificial distance

The Covid-pandemic is forcing us to keep distance. With our family abroad, friends nearby, and those closest to us. It creates an invisible wall that makes you feel locked in. You pull yourself away from a hug by a friend who you meet after a long time and offer an “elbow handshake” instead. You don’t share drinks from the same bottle. You avoid getting too close.

In the modern western World, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, as hopefully the vaccines work. It’s a matter of time, and we could learn to trust again. Will we? Or will this teach us to be more ok with taking risks? How will it affect our thought about distance?

This is something only time will answer.

Luckily, distance is not always physical.
